The FSMJ is a building with commercial spaces, with the Gato Sem Rabo Bookstore and the Divina Increnca pizzeria on its active façade, and home to the award-winning Cora Restaurant. Located on Rua Amaral Gurgel, it was built in 1970 with architecture by Bráulio Pereira Barreto, and had been unoccupied for 20 years until its renovation. Nearby are Rotary Square, Sesc Consolação and Mackenzie University.
During the renovation, the FSMJ had its terrazzo and parquet floors preserved and restored. The building's entrance door, found in excellent condition, was also kept in its original state, as was the beautiful wooden paneling in the reception area.
